Joy's Kitchen Serving Agreement

By serving in any capacity as staff or as a volunteer, you agree to these Codes of Joy. Joy's Kitchen reserves the right to refuse service to those who go against community standards below. Joy's maintains a 0 tolerance for any discrimination or hate speech. This includes Staff, Volunteers, and Guests of Joy's. If you encounter any discrimination or hate speech, you are encouraged to reach out immediately to a supervisor.

At Joy's Kitchen, we are committed to serving the community with the utmost integrity. As our environment reflects who we are, we ask all staff and volunteers to review the following agreement of conduct and behavior.

  1. Kindness and Respect for All Treat everyone—community members, staff, volunteers, and guests—with kindness, compassion, and respect.
    Communicate with care, avoiding disrespectful or aggressive language.
    Joy's Kitchen maintains a zero-tolerance policy for hate speech, slander, or harassment of any kind.
  2. Integrity and Accountability Uphold honesty and transparency in all actions. Theft or misuse of any resources, including food, equipment, or vehicles, will not be tolerated.
    Respect the space and materials of Joy's Kitchen—take only what is designated for distribution or use, and return equipment to its proper place.
  3. Respect for Property and Substance-Free Environment Joy's Kitchen is a smoke-free, drug-free, and alcohol-free space.
    Use of company vehicles is limited to authorized purposes only; misuse will result in immediate review of position and responsibilities.
    Respect the premises and ensure cleanliness, safety, and security of all spaces used for our mission.
  4. Commitment to Workplace Conduct Be punctual and consistent with your commitment to shifts; sign up for volunteer slots online and arrive on time.
    Follow instructions from managers and lead team members, respecting their role in maintaining a positive and efficient work environment.
    Respect the privacy, space, and contributions of others in the workplace, fostering a cooperative and supportive atmosphere.
  5. Inclusion and Non-Discrimination Joy's Kitchen is committed to a welcoming and inclusive environment for all, regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or ability.
    Discrimination, harassment, or exclusionary behavior based on these characteristics is not tolerated.
    Refrain from engaging in political or religious discussions that could cause discomfort or division within our community.
  6. Representing Joy's Kitchen As a representative of Joy's Kitchen, conduct yourself in a manner that reflects our values of community, respect, and integrity.
    Remember that your actions affect the reputation and mission of Joy's Kitchen.
