Joy’s Kitchen recently had the incredible opportunity to participate in “Mission Row,” an inspiring initiative created by AEG’s Andrew Mitchel & Abby Radbill. This initiative aims to leverage the unifying power of music to spotlight organizations making significant contributions to the Colorado community. From educational music programs and community outreach initiatives to environmental non-profits, “Mission Row” at the Mission Ballroom in Denver stands as a beacon of hope and support for those working towards a better tomorrow.

The event, featuring an electrifying lineup with artists like Dirtwire, Moontricks, Gone Gone Beyond, and Honeycomb, provided the perfect backdrop for Joy’s Kitchen to share its mission with thousands of attendees. Our presence at one of Denver’s most beloved venues allowed us to connect with the community on a deeper level, spreading awareness about our fight against food insecurity and waste.

At Joy’s Kitchen, we believe in the power of giving and the impact of collective effort. With the simple message that a $10 donation can feed a family of four for a week, we were able to engage concertgoers in our cause. The generosity of the community was palpable, with donations received at the event enabling us to make a tangible difference:

  • 1,600.6 pounds of nutritious food rescued and distributed
  • $7,986.99 in grocery store value
  • 1,333 meals provided, feeding 15.9 families of four for a week
  • 435.61 KG of CO2-equivalent emissions offset (equivalent to driving 175.99 miles in an average car)

This participation not only highlighted our mission to address food insecurity but also showcased the environmental benefits of our work. By rescuing food that would otherwise go to waste, we are able to provide essential support to families in need while contributing to a healthier planet.

Collaborating with Andrew Mitchel & Abby Radbill and being featured at the Mission Ballroom was an honor for Joy’s Kitchen. It’s a testament to the power of community, music, and compassion coming together to create positive change. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Dirtwire, Moontricks, Gone Gone Beyond, and Honeycomb for their incredible music and to everyone involved in “Mission Row” for their support and dedication to making a difference.

The success of this event is a reminder of the impact we can have when we unite for a common cause. At Joy’s Kitchen, we are more motivated than ever to continue our mission, fueled by the support and generosity of our community. Together, we can create a world where hunger and food waste are things of the past.
