By December 25, 2023No Comments

At Joy’s Kitchen, we are committed to creating and maintaining an environment where all individuals are treated with respect and dignity, free from discrimination. We firmly believe in the value of diversity and inclusivity, recognizing the strength and enrichment that come from the variety of experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives of our community members.

Our Commitment:

  1. Equal Opportunity: Joy’s Kitchen is an equal opportunity organization. We do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, disability, veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other status protected by law or regulation. This applies to all our activities, from the selection of volunteers and staff to our interactions with the communities we serve.
  2. Inclusive Environment: We strive to create an inclusive environment that welcomes and values diversity. We believe that our differences make us stronger and enhance our ability to achieve our mission.
  3. Harassment-Free Zone: Harassment or discrimination of any kind is strictly prohibited in Joy’s Kitchen. This includes any behavior that undermines the dignity or self-esteem of an individual or creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment.
  4. Responsibility and Reporting: All members of Joy’s Kitchen, including staff, volunteers, and board members, are responsible for upholding this anti-discrimination policy. Any incidents or concerns should be reported immediately to the management or the designated officer. All reports will be taken seriously and investigated promptly and confidentially.
  5. Continuous Learning: We commit to ongoing education and training to ensure that all members of our organization understand and can effectively implement this policy. We view diversity and inclusivity as a journey, not a destination.
  6. Accountability and Enforcement: Violations of this policy will not be tolerated and will be met with appropriate disciplinary action, up to and including termination of volunteer or employment status.

Joy’s Kitchen believes that a respectful, inclusive, and diverse environment is fundamental to achieving our mission of combating food insecurity and waste. We are dedicated to fostering a culture where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute their best.
